The American Political System Leads to the Vietnam War
The attacks by the Republican Barry Goldwater during the presidential election campaign pushed and forced the Democratic presidential candidate Lyndon Johnson to be hawkish and start the catastrophic Vietnam war. Same the presidential campaign of 2008 made Barack Obama to promise the escalation of the war in Afghanistan by sending more combat troops. He was forced into that by the attacks of the Republicans and John McCain that he was week in foreign policies and in defense.
